According to sources it wasn’t one of his solo songs, or a song with his brothers. Instead it was with someone else. Some people would think it was Thriller, or Beat It, or even Billie Jean, however Billboard says it was Say, Say, Say!
It was a 1983 hit with Paul McCartney another pop icon. This song held the top spot for more than six weeks, and stayed in the top ten for a longer period of time. Billboard is using this information as a tribute so to speak for his one year anniversary death, doing all of his songs up and showing people where they were in the billboards.
Many of the king of pop’s music landed the first place spot in many different categories, and his videos went even higher on the billboards charts and hits. He literally had albums on the top of the billboard charts sometimes with more than one song being on the list.
And, many of his songs have not just been forgotten, radio stations all over the world play his music still today. After Say, Say, Say, the next song by Michael Jackson to hit the spotlight was in fact Billie Jean.
I believe that anyone who liked the music by Michael Jackson had his or her own favorite and he had a lot of good songs you could ultimately choose from. In essence, people often had several songs by him that they liked to listen to. It was just the way Michael could sing and the way he danced his way into our hearts. The white glove, the signature dance moves, and the way he took charge of his music. In other words, when he was recording his music if he didn’t like the way it sounded he did it until it sounded its best.
