From the filmmaker Clint Eastwood it doesn’t do a lot of press these days, and yet a site somehow got a chance to talk to him and he told the sources that Judi Dench will be appearing in his biopic J.Edgar. In fact, they learned this when they talked about rumors of casting in the movie. So there you have it Dench is on board and knowing Clint Eastwood’s quick turnaround for movies, we’re likely to be seeing the movie sometime in late 2011.
The film is also starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, and Charlize Theron too. This of course is going to be a biography and a drama. Clint Eastwood will next direct a biopic of controversial FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.
Hoover was the first director of the FBI of the United States. He was very instrumental in founding the FBI in 1935, where he remained director until his death in 1972. Hoover is credited with building the FBI into a large and efficient crime fighting agency, and with instituting a number of modern innovations to police technology, such as a centralized fingerprint file and forensic laboratories. Late in life and even after his death, Hoover became an increasingly controversial figure. His critics have accused him of exceeding the jurisdiction of the FBI.
Now, the FBI is one of the most flourishing crime fighting agencies we have. Although there are now other agencies that also work along side of the FBI. Some of those agencies include the ATF alcohol, tobacco, and firearms. The CIA which of course is the central intelligence agency. They all work in sync with one another and all work on the crime that exists. Hoover however, got the ball rolling and without that we wouldn’t have an FBI that we do have today despite some critics and what they believe. This is an awesome film and a must see for those who know about the FBI and how it began.
