“Planet 51” is an exemplary science-fiction animation. It depicts today’s most curious element of space science and exploration. Since the first trip to the moon, man has been inquisitive about the possibility of another planet with similar life as the earths. If there is another planet with similar characteristics as the earth, does it have human-being-like creatures? Are they any more intelligent than we are? What if they invade the earth? But worse still, what would happen to an astronaut who lands into an alien inhabited planet?

Imagination of aliens landing into a new planet and the reaction of the inhabitants is best depicted in the movie “Planet 51”. The inhabitants of this planet live in fear that they may be invaded by strange beings. They however have no ideas what sort of beings these may be. Would they be able to defend their land if the aliens invade? Though no one has ever seen an alien, they have complex imaginations of the physic of the aliens. Despite several attempts at readying themselves, Planet 51 inhabitants never feel confident of handling an attack and instead they live in constant fear.

Their worst fear is made real when a space object is observed approaching their control units. All systems get alert and they are ready to defend or attack. Every move of the object is picked carefully. The object navigates carefully and lands, out emerges a really strange creature. Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker has just landed form planet earth. At first there is no communication, not even body language. Decision has to be quickly made as to whether the object and the alien creature should be attacked.

At last, a young resident gathers the courage and quickly builds friendship with Capt Chuck. He is the only hope of the Captain is it becomes evident that the inhabitants are intent of capturing and destroying the alien. The astronaut’s only chance is in to recover his space ship and fly back home to earth. Will he escape?
