According to sources he got all of his dental work done and now he is headed to jail for a year for the possession of a firearm. The grammy award winning rapper was sentenced in Manhattan after pleading guilty in October to attempted criminal charges.
He was found with a loaded .40 caliber semi automatic in his possession and took it on a tour bus. The rapper will serve his sentence in city jails, not state prison. He could be released in about eight months for good behavior. Lil Wayne has been one of music’s most profitable figures in recent years.
Facing Jail with his career in full throttle, Lil Wayne is prepared with a burst of work and farewell shows and videos for fans. He said in a video clip sent last week to MTV that he shot footage for seven music videos with various artists in one night over the weekend.
He told a magazine last week that he plans on continuing his writing while he is behind bars. He says he will still be rapping in there too. And he should have a gang of raps ready when he gets out. And he plans on getting out in eight months so he says he has got to do well.
City officials haven’t decided if he will be housed with the other inmates or not. City jails are already crowded enough and not everyone likes Lil Wayne. His attorney has said she is going to ask for protective custody for her client. She is concerned for his well being and his health following all the surgeries he had as well as dental work done.
Do you think he should get protective custody or should he be treated just like all the other inmates that commit crimes everyday.
