David R. Ellis is a well known name in Hollywood. Ironically enough, he’s not famous for his directing (in that field, we can even call him a newcomer). Mr. Ellis has been working in the entertainment industry for decades as an actor, stuntmen, assistant director and second unit director, for decades.
Recently, he decided to start working on his own movies, behind the camera, and instantly gained success with “The Final Destination”, “Cellular” and “Snakes on the Plane”. Along the way, he gained trust and respect of many Hollywood stars who agreed to star in his movies, like Samuel L. Jackson and Kim Basinger.
In his new movie “The Final Destination” he is going back to his horror roots, directing the newest sequel to the movie he already made in 2003. But in this story, nothing is old and nothing is the same.
Before I tell you a bit about the plot, I must add that this movie has been adapted for the 3D, which means that you will for sure shake and scream in the theater, if you decide to watch this (probably ultra scary version).
Krista Allen (from “Dirty Sexy Money”) and Bobby Campo (from “Greek”) are in leading roles, and accompanying them are newcomers: beautiful Shantel Van Santen (seen in “One Tree Hill”) and Nick Zano (“7th Heaven”).
And what’s the story you ask? It is a tale about the survivors of a car accident who all die mysteriously, until there are only two left: Nick and Lori. The remaining survivors must solve the mystery: “who killed their friends and why?”
The franchise “The Final Destination” will end with this movie, so this is your last chance to enjoy this horror flick, and follow its characters.
It is certainly not a “must see” movie, but if you love this genre, or enjoy life in 3D, treat yourself with this horror adventure. It is entertaining and scary, which is what you expect from a good horror movie.
