Gilbert Cates Dead At 77

According to sources the producer and director Gilbert Cates, who seen a record of 14 academy awards ceremonies and founded the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, has died.

The directors guild of America confirmed the death Tuesday. Gilbert Cates founded the School of Theater Film and television at UCLA and was its dean for eight years. He also served as president of the Directors Guild Of America and on the board of governors of the Academy of motion picture Arts and science. He taught several new artistic venues and related material to the fine arts of filming, producing, and directing as well as acting.

Gilbert Cates last produced the Oscar telecast in 2008, when the ceremony was almost sidelined by the Writers Guild strike. His credits also include movies, television shows and play on and off Broadway. Gilbert Cates continued to produce and direct plays at the Geffen Play House. He had many friends ,family, and fans. An inspiration to many inspiring actors and actresses. He will be missed very much by those who knew him. He was a legacy in his own time.

New Clip For Muppets Movie

The upcoming film “The Muppets Movie” from Walt Disney Pictures. It is going to be directed by James Bobin. This film is going to be fabulous and a film for the entire family. It is starring Jason Segal, Amy Adams, ChrisCooper, Rashida Jones, Alan Arkin, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Zach Gallifanakis, Kathy Griffin, Ricky Gervais, Emily Blunt, Kermit the frog, Miss piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal, and Walter.

The muppets make the decision to take a vacation to Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest muppet fan, and his friends from Smalltown, USA. However they discover beneath the Muppets’ former stomping ground. To stage the Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise a lot of money to save their theater.

It seems the Muppets have all gone their own way, however Fozzie does what he can to get them all back together. He performs with a Reno Casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus size fashion editor. Animal is in a clinic for anger management. But they all seem to get together this comedy is rated PG. Will they save the theater? Go to theaters and find out!
“The Muppets” will be out for commercial release on November 23rd,2011.

The Michael Jackson Tribute

Despite the controversy over the Michael Jackson tribute it was an awesome turn out for the king of pop to be remembered. People were asked to not think about the tribute controversy but the man Michael was. The singer, the father, the music legend, and the inspiration for many pop singers.
The roster of the entertainers was amazing. The celebration of a star’s life taken to short in life by a doctor who now stands trial. He is facing manslaughter charges.
A stage shaped like a white glove was interesting, and entertainers and participants performed songs from Jackson’s career with Jackson 5 through his own popular albums like “Thriller” and “Bad”.
Participants told fans to just ignore all of the controversy and criticism and planning glitches that marked the preparations for the show in Wales, and to remember and revel in the celebration of Michael Jackson’s legacy.
One participant Ne-Yo told all the fans, that it wasn’t about the controversy, it wasn’t about the trial, and it wasn’t about his death. The tribute was about celebrating his life. Its about celebrating his music and the singing sensation he was. His family was there, brothers, mother, and children. The children got on the stage and the oldest thanked the people for doing this tribute and the fans for coming to see it. Jackson died at age 50 in 2009, as he was preparing a lot of comeback concerts in London.

Cliff Robertson Passes Away At 88

Cliff Robertson, who played John F. Kennedy in PT 109 and won an Oscar for Charly, passed away on Saturday, September 10th at the age of 88. Apparently he died of natural causes a day after his birthday. Robertson remained a popular actor from the mid 1950’s into the following century. He also did acting later in his life which included Uncle Ben in the Spiderman film and the additional installments of the film.
Stephanie Saunders, his daughter told sources he was a great and loving father. He stood by his family, his friends, and those he worked with. There were good times and bad times but time passed by so quickly. She also spoke to sources stating he is in a better place now. We will all miss him a lot.
He won the Academy Award in 1968 for his part in Charly playing a mentally disabled man who undergoes medical treatment that makes him a genius until he regresses to his former state.

Jessica Simpson Tweets She Wasn’t Drunk

According to sources, Jessica Simpson likes Adele-a lot but the happy expression on the reality star’s face as she left the British singer’s show in Los Angeles on Monday night had nothing to do with alcohol. There were rumors that she was drunk and swaying at the Adele concert last night. That wasn’t drunk swaying, that was professional dancing? Jessica tweeted on Tuesday Morning. Jessica attended the concert alongside her fiance’ former NFL player Eric Johnson and while she claims she wasn’t inebriated, her best pace Cacee Cobb’s boyfriend, former Scrubbs star Donald Faison admitted he had a hangover.
Tuesday, even with a hangover like hammer you can’t touch this..But you’re still the worst ay of the week just sayin he wrote. Other stars who attended Adele’s Los Angeles show the Greek Theater included Private Practice Kate Walsh, Glee’s dianna Agron and Amber riley and Hell’s Kitchen Chef Godorn Ramsey all claimed they were all having a really good time. And that also included Jessica Simpson. So was she drunk or dancing”? no one will know the answer to that question unless they were right there to find out.
And yet, there are suspicions that she was by no means at the Adele concert dancing and swaying to the music. There are those individuals who claim she had to be drunk. Adele has a style of music and a lot of the time Jessica wasn’t dancing and swaying in time with it at all.

O’Neal Sues Ex Asssociate For Deframation

According to sources Ryan O’Neal sued a former associate of longtime partner Farrah Fawcett on Thursday, claiming the man is responsible for Texas university’s attempts to reclaim an Andy Warhol portrait of the actress.

O’Neal’s defamation lawsuit against Craig Nevis Thursday seeks more than one million dollars in damages and blames the actress former collaborator for a lawsuit filed last week by University of Texas system against O’Neal. That lawsuit seeks return of a mixed media portrait Fawcett created by Warhol that Nevius and the university claim the actress bequeathed to the school’s Austin, Texas campus.
O’Neal’s lawsuit states that the school has known for more than a year that he has the portrait that he is the rightful owner. He states Warhol gave it to him and that the two men had been friends long before the Fawcett artwork was created. O’Neal has no intention of ever parting with it during his lifetime, and upon his death he intends to bequeath it to his son and Ms. Fawcett’s only child. The lawsuit claims that there have been interviews about the portrait and the university investigated the whereabouts of the portrait. Nevius and O’Neal have sparred for decades. Nevius collaborated on a documentary of Fawcett’s fight with cancer, but sued the actor claiming he interfered in the project and removed him from it shortly before Fawcett’s death in 2009. The case was later dismissed. In a statement Nevius called the latest lawsuit an attempt to harass him in silence.
