The Client Nine Feature
Magnolia Pictures has provided sources with an exclusive featurette from the director in the new documentary Client nine Rise And Fall of Elliot Spitzer. The new film from the oscar winning director of Taxi From the Dark Side, following a previous nomination quite literally takes a look at the career of the former New York Governor and Attorney General, and the enemies he made along the way that led to his downfall in early 2008 when it was discovered he had been using state money to pay for high priced escorts.
The film premiered as a work in progress preview at this year’s film festival where it caused quite a stir with how deeply it goes into not only the famous sex scandal but also the great lengths Spitzer took as attorney general to expose corruption on wall street. To many, in hindsight, Spitzer was seen as someone who may have been able to prevent the economic crash of 2008, had he not slipped up so badly and gotten caught.
This film will be released in November of 2010. It is being released by Magnolia Pictures. The director is Alex Gibney. Spitzer was nicknamed the sheriff of wall street and did certain things that actually backed that up too. With the largest voting margin in the state’s history, many believed he was on his way to becoming the nation’s first Jewish President.
Then, shockingly, Spitzer and his rise turned into a huge downfall when the New York Times revealed that Spitzer the paragon of rectitude had been caught seeing prostitutes.

Gasland Review
Reel Review: The Gasland movie was released in September of 2010. It was released by Rooftop Films. This is a documentary type film and the Gasland rating isn’t available yet.
What’s Inside: When a filmmaker receives an unexpected offer a hundred thousand dollars for the natural gas drilling rights to his property in the Delaware River Basin, on the border of New York and Pennsylvania, he resisted the urge to accept. Instead, he set off on a cross country journey to investigate the environmental risks of agreeing to the deal.
Wrapping It Up: Gasland film is an urgent, cautionary, and sometimes darkly look at the largest domestic natural gas drilling campaign in history, which is currently sweeping the country and promising landowners a quick payoff. This shocking expose shows that America’s zeal to produce homegrown natural gas, often touted as clean burning may be poisoning the water and air. The Gasland documentary won the special Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
