Whiteout

WhiteoutDominic Sena is an American director, who is a newcomer to the field of cinema movies and features. His career started in a different field – movie industry, where he directed music videos and tours for some very famous pop artists such as Janet Jackson and Sting.

After starting his career in the music business, he decided to make a transition to the big screen, starting with “Gone in 60 Seconds” (with Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie), continuing with quite successful “Swordfish” (with john Travolta, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry) and following with the newest release “Whiteout” starring Kate Beckinsale.

Kate Beckinsale is quite familiar and well accepted actress in Hollywood (originally from England), but only time will tell if she is the big enough name to carry out a movie herself (because she is the only real celebrity in “Whiteout”). Her career was quite successful so far, so you might remember her from “Serendipity”, “Underworld” and “The Aviator”.

In this flick she is portraying the character of a U. S. marshal Carrie Stetko who is working alone (without her squad) on the Antarctic, where the whole movie takes place.

Her task is to find a murderer, and the main problem is time. She has only 3 days before the beginning of the Antarctic white winter, and that is her deadline for solving the case. After that, her chances are lower than zero. Her only confidant and helper is a U. N. Officer who is working on the same case. The story heats up as she is attacked and injured by the killer, but that accident leaves her even more determined to close the case.

Mystery, drama, cold winter, darkness – everything is included. “Whiteout” is an excellent thriller to share with your friends and it remains intense and action packed until the very end.
