‘I Can Do Bad All By Myself’ is a comic flick, which is based on a play with the same name. It is an extraordinary comedy and dramatic flick, about a troubled grandmother with her grandchildren and the racket they create in her old age life. The film focuses on how a famous and hard-working singer realizes the value and worth of a family. It is only after her encounter with a good-looking Mexican that she discovers what she wants. The background of the story narrates a point where gun-packing grandmother wakes up to the noise of her naughty grand daughter Jennifer (Hope Olaide Wilson) along with her two younger siblings, creating havoc inside her house. She promptly decides to deliver them to their only aunt and guardian, April’s (Taraji P. Henson) home. Her bad drinking habit, and hard-luck living does not make her good role model either. She works hard to make a living, as a singer at famous night club. She also depends on her married lover Raymond to spend on her.
Enter Sandino (Adam Rodriguez), an immigrant, struggling job-seeker, who turns out to be an angel into April’s life. He has moved in with April into her basement room. While he starts blending perfectly with the children, April gradually gets attracted to him. Not before too long, she realizes the worth of having a well-built family of her own, and start a new beginning as a better person, all over again.
