‘Turning Green’ is a dramatic, comic flick exclusively directed by Michael Aimette, John G. Hofmann and its screenplay is written by Michael Aimette, John G. Hofmann. The film stars Alessandro Nivola, Timothy Hutton, Donal Gallery and Colm Meaney.
‘Turning Green’ sees the miserable plight of James, a 16 year old teenager living in America, after the demise of his mother and being abandoned by his father. The storyline, then focuses in the present, six years in mid 1970’s, after his arrival in America. Following this incident, he and his brother are immediately departed to Ireland forcefully made to survive with three cruel aunts. Feeling helpless and out of the way, he craves for returning to his homeland America. Disturbed by the way his life takes a ruthless turn, he hunts for numerous ways to get released from the clutches of his evil aunts. To escape from this hell and fund his way out, he is employed by a local illegal bookie, Bill, the Bookie and his assistance Bill, the Breaker. Alessandro Nivola and Timothy Hutton play the roles of the bookies respectively.
The film takes a hilarious twist when James tours London and discovers something that was never there in Ireland, pornography. Being, most needful of cash, he decides to sell the stuff into Ireland. He invests the money borrowed from close friend Tom, played by Colm Meaney, to make good money out of the sale of porn mags. His fame and success spread like fire. Receiving good response and enough money, he sets on a return journey to Ireland with his brother. But on arrival, he is caught in a dilemma of where his home actually is. Either a place in the world or the state of mind in which he is, he must decide between the two.
