The Runaways movie is based on the genre of musical, biography, and drama. It is rated R for bad language in some scenes. It is about two teenage girls who want to start an all girl rock band and they need a few more girls to join. The movie actually follows the two friends Joan Jett and Cherie Currie as they rise from rebellious southern California kids to rock stars of the now legendary group that paved the way for future generations of girl bands.
Joan and Cherie fall under the influence of rock that is played by Michael Shannon, who turns the group into an outrageous success and a family of misfits. With its tough chick image and raw talent, the band quickly earns a name for itself. This is the type of movie that will keep you captivated and into the movie. The two leads earn names for themselves as well. Joan is the band’s pure rock and roll heart, while Cherie, with her bowie looks is the sex kitten. Written and directed by Floria Sigismondi the film chronicles Joan and Cherie’s tumultuous relationship on and off stage, as the band starts to break out. The band gets really good and the Runaways the movie gets even better. Not only is it the biography and drama but there is plenty of good music to listen to.
As for the ending of The Runaways movie well we’ll leave that in the theaters for you to see. The movie will be in theaters in March of 2010 and that’s when you can see the all girl rock band actually perform too. However there are trailers for the movie that can be viewed too.
