“The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” is a directing debut of successful American actress Jodie Markell. This charming lady from Tennessee, whom you might remember from “Law&Order” has chosen a literary masterpiece by Tennessee Williams, as her starting point, and secured that her debut movie will be packed with emotions, passion, betrayal and drama.
This is a moving drama, with a lot of ups and downs, and many emotions implemented in the plot and in every character. “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” tells a story about capricious, and rebellious young socialite named Fisher Willow (portrayed by excellent Bryce Dallas Howard; the daughter of Ron Howard) who studies abroad, lives a rich and laidback life and spends her time on balls and posh cocktails. One day, after a family fight, she decides to go to the biggest social event of the year with young Jimmy Dobyne, who is a poor worker on her parent’s plantation.
As you might guess, they start liking each other and capricious Fisher starts falling in love, and decides to fight with all social norms and prejudices, to save her love. But, there is always trouble in Paradise! Once the priceless teardrop diamond is lost (by accident) accusation, fight and betrayal become a priority and this loves starts crashing down.
This movie is definitely worth watching, since the cast is perfect, director gave its best and it is a fact that no one can write such stories about love and betrayal like marvelous Tennessee Williams. You will be amazed with the way every character is developed, perfectly, and we are sure that this story about seduction and love set in the Southern backdrop will leave you breathless.
Once “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” hits nearest theatre; be sure to go and see it.
