The Fourth Kind

The Fourth KindWhile many established movie directors are working on epic projects (like James Cameron, who’s busy with his new film “Avatar”), young new forces are slowly taking the stage. One of these newcomers is Olatunde Osunsanmi, whose new film “The Fourth Kind” is about to hit theaters very soon.

He has managed to gather mainly debutantes or less known actors, with one special addition – true superstar as a “headliner”, marvelous Milla Jovovich.
She had few memorable roles (“5th Element”, “Resident Evil”) and is not filming very often, which certainly means she fancied the scenario very much, because she decided to take a leading role in this movie. BTW she said that she is taking some rest from Hollywood, because being a mom is the only role she is currently interested in.

Now that we have introduced the cast and a fresh, new director, let’s see what “The Fourth Kind” is about. The year is 1972. The first close encounter of the first kind, with a UFO happened, and evidence is found. That is known as the second kind. The third kind when that contact happens with extra terrestrials.

The fourth kind is the alien abduction, and that form of contact was the one that couldn’t be proven. Until today. Now there is new evidence about the UFO actions, and it is about to shake things up.

This flick “The Fourth kind” has a great structure, and it is really much different than any movie following this (not so rare) topic. It is an intense thriller set in Alaska, where many people are reported missing, each year, and no one can explain why. That is happening for years (since 1960’s), and now Dr. Abigail Tyler is trying to find out the truth.

“The Fourth Kind” is packed with documentary footage, which was never presented before. You will hear witness stories, strange revelations and most likely, start thinking – Are we really alone, or someone else is among us, too.

Hollywood definitely needs fresh blood so we expect Olatunde Osunsanmi to receive a warm welcome, after movie this good.
