The Blue Tooth Virgin

The Blue Tooth VirginHow would you tell your friend that his writing is not as good as he thinks? Can honesty actually ruin your friendship? Is it possible to deliver bad news (or in this case –bad review) and get away with it, or you instantly become an enemy; although your intensions were good? And why on earth do we have to blab the obvious truth, when we are aware that a nice white lie would save our relationship?

“The Blue Tooth Virgin” answers these and many more questions about trust, friendship, relations and honesty. The movie follows two close friends David and Sam, as they develop their careers and try to earn money, respect and have some fun along the way. David is a successful and charming editor in a magazine, while Sam tries to start his screenwriting career. They both write for living.

David and Sam have known each other for ages and cherished great friendship although business success wasn’t developing equally well, for both of them. At one point, David decides to be honest and a true friend, and to tell Sam that his screenwriting may not be as lucrative and good as he was hoping.

From that moment, series of funny situations occur, as they start a “little war” (very common for ex-best friends). At the same time, this fight makes them look around, take some time and think about their writing and its role in their lives. Is it still their passion, is it what they still need and love?

This movie is a light yet very charming comedy, written and directed by Russel Brown, without any major movie stars included. If you need to be star struck in order to watch a movie, this one is not for you. But if you need a light approach to not-so-light topics, if you love stories about friendships and obstacles we sometimes need to skip, don’t miss it. It will certainly put a small on your face. And that is really something.
