Priest is a 2011 American horror film starring Paul Bettany as the title character, with Cam Gigandet and Maggie Q. The film, directed by Scott Stewart, is based on the Korean comic (manhwa), Priest. This action-thriller is being released by Screen Gems.
A western fused post apocalyptic thriller, is set in an alternate world, one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary veteran warrior priest (Bettany) who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled in cities ruled by the church just after the last Vampire War. When the Priest’s niece (Lily Collins) is kidnapped by vampires, the Priest breaks his vows to hunt them down. He is joined on his crusade by the niece’s boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), who is a young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses other worldly fighting skills.
Priest is scheduled to be released in the United States and Canada on May 13, 2011. If you are into thriller style films this is a must see for you!
