Post Grad

For Ryden Malby, graduating from college meant a lot more than just a certificate. It meant a step closer to achieving her lifelong dream, the dream of a job that would give purpose to her purposeless life. Knowing this, she worked hard each and every day of her college life. To Ryden, every minute of her days in college actually was a moment of make or break.

Ryden, played by Alexis Bledel, is an epitome of accomplished actress. He brings to life the frustration that most college graduates face. When dreams are crushed in a day, what meaning is there to several years of hard work? But this is the reality that every student must face. But the world is not always fair. In fact, it is often not fair. While it urges all, especially the poor and the lowest in the social class to take on education, it rarely delivers on the promise. The promise of a better tomorrow ushered in by the college degrees and certificates.

This is the reality that dawned on Ryden. There is no dream job after all, not even the college diploma can help. The city where she graduates form becomes unpalatable. She has to go back home.

Should we call it home? What is in a home if it is full of crazy men and women who keep frustrating our lives? Is not home the place that we are most lived and cherished?

Ryden has put up with her ‘family’ made up of Michael Keaton, Jane Lynch, Carol Burnett and Bobby Coleman. They do to her what they are best placed to do, frustrate her! She is completely miserable when a Mr. Right appears. At least for once there is hope in life. The colors of love, smiles and joy reappear. This is all brought to Ryden’s life through Rodrigo Santoro, a handsome Brazilian neighbor. But the entry of Adam (Zach Gilford) who cannot help but express in so silly a manner his obsession at Ryden, she is left at greater loss. Which of her hearts should she listen to?
