The movie called “Nine” is a prominent and vibrant musical which follows the life style and shoes the stories of one of the most famous film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis). The world famous director reaches a super creative and personal crisis of an epic proportion, while trying to balance the numerous women that has come to his life with the fame. The huge list includes his wife (Marion Cotillard), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), a young American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), his mistress (Penelope Cruz),his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), the whore from his youth (Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson) and his mother (Sophia Loren).
The original production of the story that was staged in 1982 Broadway production of “Nine” was nominated for twelve Tony Awards and won five that include The Best Musical which was directed by Tommy Tune, starred Raúl Juliá with music book by Arthur Kopit and lyrics by Maury Yeston and, choreographed by Thommie Walsh. It won more awards in 2003 which was a revival of the original production. The awards include the best revival of a musical. The story is not just about these women but more about the life and lies of the movie director Guido Contini and also about the tricky life he lead.
