The Leaves Of Grass movie is going to be release in April of 2010. It is a comedy thriller and it is also rated R. An Ivy league classics professor receives news of the murder of his estranged identical twin brother in a pot deal gone bad; he leaves the world if Northeastern academia to travel back to his home state of Oklahoma. Upon arrival he finds that reports of his brother’s death are greatly exaggerated, and he’s soon caught up in the dangerous and unpredictable world of drug commerce in the backwaters of the south west.
In the process the reconnects with his eccentric mother, meets a wise and educated young woman who has bypassed academia in favor of the gentler rhythm of life, and unwittingly helps his troubled brother settle a score with the pernicious drug lord. Who uses Tulsa, Oklahoma’s small Jewish community for cover. Leaves of Grass follow a twisting narrative path merging crime and drama. Drugs and comedy, classical philosophy and sudden violence in pursuit of answering one of humanity’s oldest questions, What does it mean to live a happy and constructive life?
Does the drug lord feel as though his brother is really his other brother but come back from the dead? Or does he know about the identical twin brother that lived so far away? And in essence who had his twin brother killed was it the drug lord? There are many questions that need to be answered as the living brother attempts to sort things out. But with everything being so chaotic he can’t think and this annoys him. His brother couldn’t have been into the drug lord for that much could he, so much that the drug lord wanted him killed?
The living brother struggles with the truth, the police reports, and people in general to find out if there were any witnesses. No one wants to talk and he still doesn’t know what happened to his brother.
