‘It’s Complicated’ is a comic flick written and directed by Nancy Meyers. Its leading stars are Steve Martin, Meryl Streep, John Krasinski, Alec Baldwin and Lake Bell.
‘It’s Complicated’ is a romantic comedy revolving around a modern couple, their complicated journey from love to divorce, going through separation and then re-unity. It sees Jane, a mother of three; the proud owner of a bakery cum restaurant and a decade old divorced woman, lands up having an amicable affair with her ex-husband Jake.
For the ceremony of their son’s graduation day, they depart for the event out of town, following which things begin to get complicated. Following this function, Jane and Jake begin to have a liking for each other, with their old love rekindled; and decide to have an affair, all this over a meal they have together. But the most unimaginable thing is about happen with Jane when she discovers her ex-husband is remarried to a much younger girl Agness. Jane now realizes that she is ‘the other woman’ in Jake’s life. Comedy personified, Jane fins her life entangled between her past and present, and unaware of the solutions to the complicated problems her life has been creating.
Meanwhile, only one person is suffering a hardship amidst the birth of their love and romance. Adam is an architect/ designer who is hired renovate and re-design Jane’s restaurant kitchen. Ironically, Adam is suffering from his own divorce, and as the only way of healing his wounds, he starts finding new love in Jane. Without having even a slightest idea that he would find himself stuck in a love triangle, he begins to get attracted towards Jane. The movie shows how complicated it is to decide to choose your first love, or to give your life a second chance by falling in love again.
