‘Gentlemen Broncos’ is written by screenwriters Jared Hess and Jerusha Hess, and is exclusively directed by Jared Hess. It stars Jennifer Coolidge, Mike White, Sam Rockwell, Jemaine Clement and Michael Angarano in the lead.
‘Gentlemen Broncos’ is a light hearted comic flick revolving around Benjamin and his encounter with terrible side of fate. It narrates a story of a home schooled teenager who strives to become a famous writer. He aspires to become a well established fantasy story writer. He is home schooled by his abnormal mother, to make him a self proclaimed person without any bookish knowledge. Benjamin is a loner, learning through actual experience. He is extremely passionate about writing. And this passion drives him through a hilarious and an offbeat journey, to achieve his dream. His life drastically changes after attending a fancy convention where his writing talent and work is showcased. His first work ‘Broncos’ is terribly ripped off by an ace fantasy novelist and author, Ronald Chevalier. The novelist sets a bad deal for Benjamin’s work. His masterpiece, ‘Broncos’, is transformed into a terrible film by one of the most productive and prolific filmmaker.
‘Gentlemen Broncos’ is a comedy fantasy film, wherein the fictional stories have characters coming to life, in the movie. The story presents comic scenes where characters from both Benjamin’s as well as Chevalier’s work, come to life.
The aspiring writer, Benjamin Purvis is portrayed by Michael Angarano; the novelist, Ronald Chevalier is played by Jemaine Clement. Similarly, Sam Rockwell is the main character from fiction stories of Benjamin and Ronald, but in dual disguise; one in each of the writers’ stories. Benjamin’s mother is enacted by Jennifer Coolidge. Suzanne May is portrayed as the lead heroine cast in the fiction stories. And Halley Feiffer enacts Tabatha Jenkins, a friend of Benjamin.
