Fish Tank movie is now playing in theaters and is about a mother and her daughter who find themselves in a war over the same man in this drama from writer Andrea Arnold. Arnold is also the director. The daughter is fifteen years old and lives with her mother and younger sister in a poor neighborhood. The daughter Mia is the one rebelling and being reckless with her life and has run into trouble a few times with authorities at her school.
This of course leads her to be suspended with plenty of time to get into more trouble which again, she does. In addition, Mia spends her days drinking with her other new friends and partying near where she lives. Her mother begins dating a new man, and when she brings him home to meet the girls Mia is immediately in love, and its soon obvious he feels the same way about her, now the mother and daughter are in competition over this guy.
And yet, so you still have a reason to go to a theater we really shouldn’t say anymore about how the movie continues or even ends or you won’t have a reason to even go to the theater to see it. This drama is close to home for a lot of people now in real life and it has a certain truth to it in some ways. Unfortunately someone has to get hurt and someone falls in love. This was a movie that was an official selection at the 2009 Cannes film festival.
