In the history of those inspirational dramas Extraordinary Measures is actually inspired by another true story. It is about a man who went against any type of wisdom and against all odds, and did his best to find a cure for one of his children’s terminal disease.
As far as working classes go he has actually been able to know what success feels like. In addition, he has got his wife on his side one hundred percent. They have three children. His two younger children both have this disease and just as his career is taking off they are diagnosed. With great determination he then confides in another scientist and together they work as a team to find a cure. This is truly an emotional story. As the two get closer to a cure they set their minds on developing a life saving drug that will help everyone. One of the men is doing it to prove his theories are right and of course the other is fighting to save his children’s lives. The two actually gain respect for each other despite small disagreements along the way. The two battle not only against businesses and the system; but they are also fighting against time.
When it seems as if all hope is gone and they have exhausted all their ideas a solution could be found. The two men one final obstacle and that is what will happen and which one of the children will be affected by the drug. This movie remember is based on a true story and it is a heart wrenching film with a race against time.
Neither scientist wants to give up and for different reasons which on occasion makes them disagree; and yet when the final solution is found they both want the same thing to save lives.
