The general election held in the year 1948 marked the commencement of the apartheid political regime, prior to racial segregation in South Africa. This is the background on which ‘Endgame’ is based. It derives its true story from the political history of South Africa during the colonial and dominating times that dealt with racial discrimination of inhabitants followed by segregation of residential landmarks. The history of South Africa also saw separation and forceful removal of these residents under the policy of the new legislation that was formed.
