City Island

The City Island movie is based in a setting of quiet fishing on the outside of New York City, City Island is a hilarious and touching tale about a family whose comfortable co existence is hurled into chaos with revelations of past secrets and present day lies.

A family man who makes a living as a correctional officer wants to really become an actor. However he is ashamed to admit it to his own family. He would rather let his wife think his weekly poker games are a ploy for extramarital affairs than admit he’s taking acting classes instead. Things get worse when he is asked what the biggest secret he has is, and revealing the chaotic chain of events that turns his life upside down all due to one secret. Inspired by exercise he decides to bring his ex con son home to meet the family too. This again is another mistake. Not long after doing this that he realizes everyone in his family is hiding some type of secret from each other. Truly a comedy the movie will make you laugh so hard you cry. That’s how crazy City Island the movie really is.

Everyone with something to hide, the perfect realm of deceit and deception for the entire family. Only knowing half of the truth, and confusion makes all of the family members realize that the truth may not set them free, but its easier to keep track of their well designed little white lies. Essentially, much better than actually telling the truth. It is rated PG-13 because of some bad parts but ultimately it is a comedy that I bet people will purchase the DVD when it comes out. After they have been to the theater to see it. It’s just that type of movie that you could watch over again just to get a good laugh.
