Trucker Review

Trucker ReviewIn trucker, Monaghan gas well personified the role of a female truck driver, Diane with an edge. This driver is not only has a knack for drinking lots of hard liquor but also indulges in often unhealthy one night stands.

She has been portrayed as a self centered woman with a very few friends. All she is seen to be bothered about is how to keep her truck going and knows that pretty well. Initially she’s is not shown giving anything back unless these personality traits start to trouble her when her estranged 11 year old son, played by Jimmy Bennett suddenly comes to picture right at her doorstep. He is the son that she had left far behind long back when she ended her very early marriage. Since then she has been used to a solitary and selfish life. That is why her life takes a turn when this unexpected incidence takes place. He was to be now brought up by his step mother played by Joey Lauren Adams. The kid’s father played by Benjamin Bratt is suffering with colon cancer and has been forced to the hospital. Basically, to be step mother and the estranged kid are not too fond of each other and seek a way to stay away for three weeks. The movie unfolds the feelings of a family and how to build a home.

The movie can be appreciated for the chemistry shown between the characters Diane and Peter. The entire story is though somewhat predictable, the entire movie is enjoyable. The remarkable cinematography also make the movie a worth watching screen. This movie is a treat to those who had been patiently and even anxiously waiting to judge Michelle Monaghan acting stills. It is finally this movie that she completely owns and even does justice to the role. She has in this movie delivered the performance that was concealed somewhere deep inside her.
