What’s Inside: The American is a suspense thriller starring George Clooney. It is about an assassin on the move and always alone. After a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he retreats to the Italian countryside. He loves being away from death for a while as he mellows in a small medieval town. While he is there he takes an assignment to construct a weapon for a mysterious contact.
Wrapping It Up: The American accepts the friendship of a local priest and pursues a torrid liaison with a beautiful woman. As they spend time together a romance emerges. However, by stepping out of the shadows, he might be tempting fate and looking for death.
