Reel Review: According to some people who seen the movie Dear John felt that it was just way to sad. They even went as far as to call it Dear Sad. And yet there were others that thought it was so touching what a romance should really be like. Dear John was released the same time as other popular movies too so that might put just a little damper on it.
What’s Inside: Dear John is a movie that tells a story of a young soldier that is home on leave. And a girl that is a college student he falls in love with; during her spring break and vacation time. And then, over the next seven years, the two are separated by John’s deployments which are getting more and more dangerous. John tells her of some of the danger he encounters but he doesn’t want to alarm her or frighten her so he tries to keep his letters on the light side talking mostly about them.They only meet when its possible and that is too few for them but it can’t be helped. So, they stay in touch by sending a stream of love letters overseas. Letters that later bring on fatal consequences.
Wrapping it up: So that is basically the movie Dear John however we haven’t told you what the overall consequences are, but hey why ruin the ending for you? Go to the theater and see it for yourself. For many people who have already seen it have mixed emotions about it because it is so touching. Dear John is one of those movies that you don’t know if you want to cry or keep watching. The two live in despair for seven years writing back and forth and then something bad happens. That takes the wind out of anyone’s sail don’t you think?
