An Education Review

An EducationTruly an education!

This thriller movie full of suspense is set on 1961 London. Nothing compared to the London you know today. It is boring to death, just a drab, to make matters worse, it is 11 years after the 1950 war. The exciting and free living times are a decade away.

Jenny played by Carey Mulligan is the main character. She is an emerging adult, very brilliant and amusing. In addition, she is among the rear combination of beauty and brains, she is cute and truly sweet sixteen. She is ripe for a good investment in education that would set her to honored career path.

Jenny has grown up in the suburban life on an averagely normal moral barometer. Suddenly David played by Peter Sarsgaard who has lived close to double the lifetime of the innocent Jenny appears and is bent on corrupting the little girl. David waves the urban charm to this almost rural girl and she can’t resist. He is humorous and clever and quickly gains acceptance among Jenny’s conservative parents Jack (Alfred Molina) and Marjorie (played by Cara Seymour).

As if the two have been granted a license by Jenny’s parents to educate her, David takes it upon himself to introduce her to the fancy new world of classical concerts. The two increasingly become nocturnal, spending time in late night suppers with the high flying business partners of David. One of the partners is the couple of Danny (Domnic Cooper) and his girlfriend who is pretty but empty headed Hellen played by Rosamund Pike.

Then comes knocking the coveted Oxford college entry chance for Jenny, but it is too late. After all, she has had an education! This is a MUST WATCH, good lessons for anyone who cares for a woman.
