9 Review

9 ReviewShane Acker has studied architecture, before deciding to switch to something more creative and entertaining. This extremely talented animator, director and designer currently resides in Los Angeles, and is dedicated to his biggest love – cartons and animated features.

He has entered the world of independent movies few years ago, causing quite a stir in 2005, when he released his first animated short movie “9” and gained excellent reviews and critics.

That short animated flick “9” (which later developed into “9” we will be reviewing here) was an instant success. It premiered at Sundance, and instantly became the favorite of both public and critics. In 2006, Shane Acker was even nominated for Academy Award.

After three years, he has decided to finally develop “9” into a full length theatrical movie, and that hard work was finally finished recently, so this movie is entering the cinemas worldwide very soon.

In this movie character called 9 wakes up in a world after the apocalypse where there is no human presence and everything is gone. He bumps into few refugees, a small community, running away from horrible deadly machines, cruising the Earth and swapping away everything in front of them.
If they want to live, they must find out what is happening and how they can save their lives and the planet. The crusade begins, led by 9, and who will win this battle, you will see in the movie!

Voiceover is done by very famous actors Elijah Wood, Martin Landau, Christopher Plummer and Jennifer Connelly; and this longer “9” is even better than its shorter, previous version.

Group 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they’ll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.
