The Serena movie stars Angelina Jolie, and it hasn’t been set for a release date as of yet. It is a drama based on the novel Serena. It is placed in 1929 and the newlyweds George and Serena travel from Boston to the North Carolina mountains where they plan to create a timber empire. Although George has already lived in the camp long enough to father a illegitimate child, Serena is new to the mountains.
But she soon shows herself to be the equal of any man overseeing crews, hunting rattle snakes and even saving her husband’s life in the wilderness. Together this lord and lady of the woodlands ruthlessly kill or vanquish all who fall out of favor.
Yet, when Serena learns that she will never bear a child she sets out to murder the son George fathered without her. Mother and child begin a struggle for their lives, and when Serena suspects George is protecting his illegitimate family, their intense marriage starts to unravel and the passionate life they had as the story moves on to a shocking reckoning.
This is definitely a drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat and captivated as to what is going to unfold in the movie next. This is one of those stories where you have that special type of love that is honored and the very same love is betrayed.
