Dean and Cindy use a night just to save the marriage they know is failing awfully. It is on the rocks, so to speak, and they have to do everything they can to keep it from falling completely apart. Not to mention they only have one night to do it in.
They both know that it can be done if they try, they just have to find that love that brought them together in the first place. In essence, they are still in love they just haven’t realized they are falling out of love and that there is a difference.
As soon as they can realize that, then maybe in one night they can rekindle the love they knew so long ago. The Blue Valentine movie is heart wrenching and a beautiful love story.
