There are a certain amount of members of the catholic church and the Vatican that seem to think that the movie the Avatar. Although there are futuristic scenes they are not all that bad. In fact it is doing quite well in theaters.
According to those in the Vatican there are certain places in the movie that should be dubbed or deleted completely. However, the movie is already in theaters so that isn’t going to happen any time soon. The Vatican went as far to say there were parts that somewhat promoted worship of nature and not of mankind. This of course could be conflicting, and yet the movie is doing better than many of the others that have caused controversial and nothing was ever said about these movies. Or the opinions didn’t hold a lot of power for the cause.
For the most part this movie is making a large amount of money for those who have seen it and enjoyed it.
Avatar is a wonderful futuristic movie that has great special effects that even surprised the created that they turned out so good too.
I don’t think the Vatican is going to have much of an impact on the movie because there are more people that do like it; instead of those that would agree with the catholic church or the Vatican.
