There’s nothing better than a cool surprise and according to reports, that is just the case from DreamWorks Animations. Kung Fu Panda 2 is on the works and needless to say, the film is going to be brilliant. DreamWorks released the teaser trailer and some movie still photos of the film online. From encounters with the chopsticks and the bamboos and most importantly, new characters.
The upcoming animation adventure movie is set to be released in May 27, 2011 and used to have a working title of, “Kung Fu Panda 2: Pandamonium”. All the major characters from the 2008′s Kung Fu Panda will reprise their roles in this sequel. Jack Black will voice Po, now a Kung Fu Master. He will fight along with Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and The Furious Five—Monkey (Jackie Chan), Crane (David Cross), Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Viper (Lucy Liu), and Mantis (Seth Rogen). Another group of Kung Fu masters is set to join the adventure and will be voiced by Victor Garber, Michelle Yeoh and Jean-Claude Van Damme as Master Thundering Rhino, The SoothSayer and Master Croc respectively. gary Oldman plays the movie’s villain, Lord Shen.
The animated film shows Po who is now living his dream as the Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Five. However, Po’s new life is threatened as a terrifying villain arises and plans to wreck havoc in China and destroy Kung Fu using a secret weapon. Now it is up to Po and the Furious Five to travel across China to face this threat and defeat him.
This is sure to be another blockbuster hit following 2008′s Kung Fu Panda. It’s great to have all of Po’s gang on board for the sequel. Mark the date and see you all in the theaters!
