Peter Jackson Causes Slight Delay

Peter JacksonThere was a report that The Hobbit Film has encountered a slight delay. As Peter Jackson had to undergo emergency surgery. According to sources Peter Jackson was admitted to the hospital with acute stomach pain. He underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer. Peter is currently resting comfortably and his doctors expect him to make a full recovery and it is not to have an impact on his directing abilities. The Hobbit is beyond a slight delay in the start of the filming.

The Hobbit is slated to be released in 2012. It is being released by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is starring Andy Serkis, Ian McKellan, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, John Callen, Mark Hadlow, and Adam Brown among others.

There are actually two Hobbit films. Hobbit and its sequel. They are scheduled to be shot simultaneously, with preproduction beginning as soon as possible. Originally principal photograpy was tentatively set for a 2009 start with the intention of the Hobbit release set for 2012. And its sequel the following year. Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will serve as executive producer of the two films based on the Hobbit.

Depending on the recovery rate of Peter Jackson will essentially determine when the production will begin again, he plays a large role in the film making of this movie. Although he has a co producer they can’t wait to have Peter Jackson back on the set although they realize he has to recover from his surgery first and that is what might cause a slight delay in the filming.
