The film will reportedly be somewhat of a reboot of the series, with the new Spy Kids as the children of Jessica Alba. Sources report that Alba is in negotiations to join Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 4 to play a mother and former spy who is forced to come out of retirement. Ricky Gervais will be providing the voice of a robot spy dog named Argonaut in the family comedy, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World.
Written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, the fourth film of the Spy Kids franchise also stars Jeremy Piven, Joel McHale, Rowan Blanchard, Mason Cook, Antonio Banderas, and Danny Trejo. In addition, original Spy Kids stars Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara are reprising their roles. Dimension Films is releasing Spy Kids #4 on August 19, 2011 (in 3D).
