Reports have confirmed that Ian McKellen will join the cast of the Hobbit. He has been in several films and his iconic version of his portrayal of the wizard in the three Lord of the Rings films brought him great success as well. The character plays a huge role in the original Hobbit and with him on board it is going to be phenomenal.
The film Hobbit will be released in December of 2012. It is of course being released by Warner Bros. Pictures. The director is Peter Jackson. Starring Ian mcKellan, Andy Serkis, Martin Freeman, John Callen, Sylvester McCoy, Ryan Gage, and others. This is an adventure, fantasy, and sci-fi film. One that will keep you in suspense and on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.
The two Hobbit films, the Hobbit and its sequel are scheduled to be shot simultaneously, with pre-production beginning as soon as possible. Originally principal photography was tentatively set for 2009, with the intention of the Hobbit release set for 2012 and its sequel in 2013. Peter Jackson and fran Walsh will be producers of the two films based on the Hobbit. Although there isn’t a lot of information about the film the Hobbit there are a lot of cast members already on board such as Ian McKellen and many others.
