While the actor director pair of Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy are still hard at work finishing up their reboot boxing movie Reel Steel for release later this year, they are also reporting that the two have plans to re0team for a currently titled action adventure. There isn’t a lot about this film right at the moment however Real Steel is set to be released on October 7th 2011. It is being released by Touchstone Pictures.
A gritty white knuckled action ride set in the near future this action drama will have you on the edge of your seat in suspense as to what is coming next. The sport of boxing has literally gone high tech in Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed up fighter who lost his chance at a title when a 2000 pound, eight foot tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing event to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom of this drama he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son to build an train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no holds barred arena are raised, they go against all odds, and get one last shot at a comeback.
