The Hiding Divya movie will be released in August of 2010. It is being released by Net Effect Media. It is starring Pooja Kumar and an awesome list of cast members. It is a drama and the rating isn’t available as of yet.
Filmaker rehana Mizra takes on the problems of mental illness in the South Asian community in her writing and directorial feature debut Hiding Divya. It provides a rare realistic and good glimpse into the lives of three generations of women. Divya, who has a Bipolar illness has been denied and covered up for years, her rebellious daughter who ran away from home is an unwed teen while her sister has emotional problems buried under a veil of secrecy. Combining the deft humor the award winning shorts with the twists of her acclaimed theatre plays, the film tells a story of denial, shame, guilt, and love.
Although there isn’t a lot of information about this movie, the idea is that there are a lot of people all over the world that suffer from some type of mental illness and they shouldn’t be overlooked or simply buried into the system somewhere. Giving them the help they need is something of what this movie is about. Hiding them doesn’t help them and the movie Hiding Divya is a good movie about this. The drama will keep you captivated and wondering what will happen next.
