As reported by Warner Bros, they have plans to reboot the Fletch franchise. Now, there has been word that the studio has brought in David Mandel to script the first draft. The casting will begin soon. The release date is to be announced. The screenwriter of course will be David Mandel.
The Gregory McDonald novel series, first published in 1974 with Fletch offers a humorous take on an LA based investigative journalist. The first book spawned eleven sequels and served as the basis for a 1985 film that starred Chevy Chase in the lead. Chase would return to the character in 1989 for a sequel, Fletch Lives.
This is a comedy and crime style film that will ultimately have you in suspense and laughing at different portions throughout the film. Although there isn’t a lot of information as of yet for this film there will be additional details that should emerge.
