Coogan And Brydon Take The Trip

steve cooganThere have been reports that Coogan and Brydon have been reunited for the “Trip” a pseudo- documentary about the duo’s trip through Northern England visiting carious restaurants and landmarks, which ran in the UK as a six episode series and has cut down to a two hour film that is being released in the states. Most people who see it will think that it is a real documentation of the trip and all its highs and lows, but it is very much a showcase for the comic talents of the duo and their strained relationship as they each deal with the other’s quirks and trying to balance their respective statuses in the world of entertainment. Besides being one of the funniest movies of the year, most of that coming from their dueling impressions of the likes of Michael Caine, Pacino and others. It is also one filled with suspense making you wonder how much of it pulled from out of his frequent collaborators real personalities.
After being turned down by just about everyone he knows, Steve Coogan extends an invitation to Rob Brydon and together the pair attempt to navigate the winding back roads of rural England. This is a film that will be released on June 11th,2011. It is being released by IFC films and it is a hilarious comedy that will essentially have you laughing in your seats and wondering what is going to come next. It is starring of course, Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, and Margo Stilley. Over a series of different occasions the odd couple tests the limits of their friendship, questioning what is most important to them and along the way discover the limits of what they are and are not willing to give up for fame.
