Main Character of 'Georgy Girl' Dies Age 67

Lynn Redgrave died at 67 from cancer on May 2, 2010. She passed peacefully after she was diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago. Her children will always have the memories of how much of a wonderful mother, grandmother, actor, friend, and writer and will remain in everybody's heart that she touched forever. Lynn was diagnosed with breast cancer in December of 2002. She then went on to get a mastectomy in January of 2003 and she went through chemotherapy.

A year after Lynn's niece Natasha Richardson passed away from head injuries that she acquired during a skiing accident. A month before Lynn passed her older brother, Corin Redgrave, died. Lynn was the youngest child of Micheal Redgrave and Rachel Kempson.Lynn reported to The Associated Press in 1999 that "Corin's the brain, Vanessa is the shining star, oh, and then there's Lynn."

Although she was never as notorious as her sister, Vanessa Redgrave, she did receive Oscar nominations for "Georgy Girl" and "Gods and Monsters." She was also up for Tony nominations for "Mrs. Warren's Profession," "Shakespeare for My Father" and "The Constant Wife." She has also been seen on more recent shows for example, "Ugly Betty," "Law & Order," and "Desperate Housewives."

Lynn's Broadway debut was in 1972 which she played in "Black Comedy." Her shining, sweet, and open personality for the show was much like her offstage personality. Which it worked well in "Black Comedy" and two years after her debut "My Fat Friend." Which was a comedy about a young woman that was overweight who wanted to take off a few pounds in order to find romance.

Redgrave's last time she was seen on stage in New York was for the play "Nightingale" at off-Broadway's Manhatten Theatre Club. On Tuesday the lights on Broadway marquees will be dimmed. Although she underwent medical treatment she was still committed to her work. She gave excellent performances eight nights a week and never missed a show.

Everyone that got to work with Lynn Redgrave loved her, worshipped her is more like it. She was a courageous, talented full of strength and good heart. In every lucky person's heart that Lynn Redgrave touched will remember her forever. She is loved still and will be missed very dearly.
