Why Its So Hard To Beat Pixar

According to sources in the kingdom of animation, Pixar is the current undisputed lord of the realm. Their winning streak is remarkable. Toy Story, Wall E, Up, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, and the list goes on. But thee is another team of artists producing some great animated films these days as well.

With titles like Shrek, Kumg Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon, Dreamworks animation has established itself as the leading contender to usurp Pixar coveted throne. But while critics often praise their films, thereç—´ this sentiment that seems to hover over every dreamworks release like a dark cloud, and it is typically expressed in the form of backhanded compliments like itç—´ the best animated film not made by pixar, or its great but it is not pixar. So why is it that Pixar is continually the filmmakers doing all of the animation work and having it turn out excellent?

In theaters the movies can stay in contention for weeks while others start to fizzle long before. The answer is very simple. Pixar was purchased by Disney in 2006 and is now one of the many tentacles of the empire. While animation seems to be increasing the war on who or what company is producing it continues as well. Disney somewhat stays away from the name however, so Pixar can have its own recognition just as any other animation company would want to do. But the truth is Disney is behind the scenes.
