Once a script is finished and it is approved then its time to start casting for the movie. Well, what does that mean right? Casting is when the director and the producer invite certain actors and actresses to read the script, and if they read it well, or they read it well and like what they read then that part is cast for that person.
Also, there are several scripts that go out because many movies have smaller parts that have to be filled as well. It can't just be the starring roles that get cast. Even a fry cook for a movie just an example, has to be cast and played by someone. Sometimes there are bigger parts than others and sometimes the parts are rather long. In addition a starring role might have a co-star meaning they are just as popular.
Either way casting is a process that is tedious and can take a little time. Another example of casting is the producer or director contacting an actor or actress and asking them if they are interested in the movie, then they give them the script to read, if the actor or actress likes what they read they will accept the part; then again if they don't then they will decline. In any movie this has to be done. Even in those movies that are animated because someone has to do the voices for the animated characters too. Casting often comes after the script is approved as stated above, but sometimes casting can take awhile and then after this they have to get the scenes and the parts right for whichever actor or actress has accepted to do the part for that movie.
Casting isn't just reading a script either. You have to put some heart into it, especially if you want the part and there are a few others who are going to be after that part as well. It goes to whoever can play the part the best, and is best qualified for the part.
