Its been my oservation that there are alot of people who go to theaters and then when the movie they seen comes out on DVD, they will go buy it. This happens alot and its really common. And yet, there's another side to the coin. There are some people who won't go to the theater and wait for the DVD to come out and then purchase it. In some ways I think the reason for this is due to the fact that large families can't pay the price of going to the theaters. Sometimes the reason the family doesn't go is because children are going to want popcorn and other items that cost too.
If its just a couple going and they want refreshments then the cost of going to the theater isn't that high. However you have a family of say five or six and they all go to the theaters it is going to cost. So essentially it will be cheaper for that family to wait until the DVD comes out and they can watch it as a family then. Its not so bad considering after doing a bit of research it balances out really. On the one hand you have couples or three people that will go to the theaters and then you have larger families that will wait and it will come out on DVD.
That's not a bad thing and everybody wins really. Everyone gets to see the movie and have a good time doing it. So, it all works out in the end. The only difference is that the large screen at the theater thrills alot of people and this is something that people at home just don't have. Although they are making bigger screen televisions for the home and many homes now have surround sound too. The biggest thing about it all as stated before would be the big screen and being right there in the middle of it all.
I wonder what other people think of this, and if it makes sense to you. I mean I am only one person but I wonder if anyone else shares the same opinion that I have. Its just something to think about in the great big technical world we live in. I like going to the theater whenever I can but when I can't and I do have to wait for the DVD I go out and buy it as soon as its on the shelves.
