It seems that the Swiss won’t let Polanski go until they are sure he is going to be charged with a crime that happened thirty-two years ago. Wow! They said it was a thirty two year old case that needed to be addressed even now. Apparently he had sex with a thirteen year old girl. Right now he is under house arrest and will stay there until they can get things together in Los Angeles.
In a new twist of things the deputy director for the swiss said that there was no sense to remove him from house arrest while he seeks to resolve the issue in the United States. Although his attorney for the seventy six year old claims he was in a prison for 42 days but for different reasons.
When there are questions still open about why he should be extradited the conflict just continues and the aging Polanski just sits. Who knows maybe this is the best thing for him right now, at least he is not in jail. However, if he did do the crime then at the age he is at should he go to jail.
There are mixed signals all over this story and many people believe that if he did the crime then yes, he should spend time in jail, how much time should be determined by the courts. And he should be allowed to come back to the United states that much people do agree on.
His latest film the Ghost Writer was to debut however it is uncertain if that will happen now either because of this enormous mess and controversy over a thirty two year old case.
