According to sources the executive producer Nigel Lythgoe is back on track and working on the American Idol show after leaving the series two seasons ago. He is being really forward on the concept of having Steven Tyler join the panel of judges. He has come through that entire rock and roll era and Lythgoe wants a legend in with the judges. Steven Tyler is the front man for Aerosmith. Although Steven hasn’t been saying much about joining the show or at least he hasn’t been filling his group in on what he is wanting to accomplish. And yet it is all over the internet what he wants to do. How long does he plan on keeping his group in the dark about this?
Lythgoe also wants to get Paula Abdul back on the panel with the judges. She is one of the producer’s favorite judges out of many. However, she has signed on with CBS for the television show Got To Dance. So her return isn’t really expected. As for Steven Tyler that is only one judge and they still need another. Unless they plan on going with a three judge format as they have stated in previous interviews. Since Lythgoe has returned to the show he has pushed to get Steven Tyler on with the judges.
If everything goes according to his plans the American Idol show will move forward with Tyler being as one of the judges. Nigel Lythgoe has a lot to say in the matter at hand with the show being in need of more judges on the panel. With Tyler they will have three judges or four depending on if they get anymore or not. And there have been several names coming to the table for them to decide on.
