Robert De Niro Huddles Up With ESPN for Vince Lombardi Biopic



Robert De Niro is ready to take the field with ESPN. The iconic character gas veeb taooed to play legenday football coach Vince Lombardi in a biopic being developed by ESPN films and the NFL according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film simply titled Lombardi is being written by Eric Roth. Lombardi will focus on the years the coaching legend brought the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, back to prominence in the 1960’s. During a nine year stretch, Lombardi and his Packers won five NFL titles.

He died in 1970 after fighting a battle with cancer. He was 57. A far as being a coach he was a man that a lot of people respected because of his prominent ways of dealing with his team.

There are few actors who could accurately portray the fire, passion, and grit of Lombardi. And we’re thrilled to have Robert De Niro on our team. The film is set to debut the week befor super bowl in February 2012.

Rober De Niro was a great fan of Lombardi because of the coach he was and the coaching that he did. He could work wonders with his players, and even those who didn’t play that well he convinced could play well if they put more heart into their game.

According to sources this movie will recognize Lombardi’s good qualities as well as the grit and stone like image at times that his players respected so much. He was a coach of all coaches and his players loved and respected him no matter what. Many of his players wore his name on their helmets right after he died.
