According to sources Paris Hilton is going to plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges stemming from her arrest for drug possession last month at a Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The district attorney says the celebrity socialite has agreed to plead guilty Monday to drug possession and obstructing an officer in Las Vegas under the terms of a plea deal worked out with prosecutors after the August arrest.
Paris will serve a year of unsupervised probation and complete a drug abuse program under the plea agreement. She originally faced a felony cocaine possession charge. The twenty nine year old was arrested inside the Wynn resort after police say a small bag containing a gram of cocaine spilled from her Chanel purse as she reached for lip balm. There are some people who don’t agree with the way she is getting just a simple slap on the wrist and they are wondering if it is due to the fact that she is a celebrity. Many individuals are getting somewhat tired of the fact that those celebrities that essentially get into trouble don’t have to pay for the consequences of their actions. If she had cocaine on her in should have been a felony charge and that’s all there is to it! However, she got a deal just another celebrity getting off the hook with a big warning and a slap on the wrist. It makes no sense to some of her fans either and they think she should have been given the same treatment as someone who is not a celebrity.
In essence, all she is getting is a drug program and probation for her actions and the concept of being caught with cocaine. She is getting off way to easy for some people and the entire idea that she will spend no time in jail causes some dissension with both her fans and other people who have been in her shoes and because they were not celebrities went to jail for having possession of cocaine on them.
