Meryl Streep Will Be Honored At The Berlin Film Festival

Meryl StreepAccording to sources Meryl Streep is going to be honored for her huge career at the Berlin Festival this year. The festival organizers said Monday that the 62 year old will be presented with an honorary golden bear, the event’s top award, on February 14th.

The director of the festival told sources Meryl Streep is a versatile and brilliant performer who moves with class and ease between dramatic and comedy roles.

The two time Oscar Winner is going to be honored at a screening of her latest film, “The Iron Lady” where she performs as the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The Festival will also screen older films that Meryl Streep played in as well. The Berlin event, the first of the year’s European film festivals will take place in February 2012.

Many young actresses look up to the actress as being their inspiration and mentor of movie filming. Although there is not a lot of information about this event as the date gets closer more details will emerge. Be sure to check back and we will do our best to keep you updated too.
