Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Bryan was 18 years old at the time he died. He committed suicide on February 26th by jumping from the 8th floor balcony of his New York apartment.
It seems that Michael had been depressed from bad grades at school and a visit from his old girlfriend. Friends say he had tried to commit suicide three times in the past by hanging himself.
According to the coroner’s report, there were no drugs in his system at the time of his death.
At around 9pm on the night he died, Michael was texting on the phone with his neighbor and good friend, Ruthann Clawson. She said that Michael told her that he wasn’t feeling well and he would be home soon. Ruthann then received a final text stating that there was a note for her in his apartment. In the suicide note he “outlined his unhappiness with his life and his intent to kill himself.”
Several minutes after reading the note, she heard sirens and saw his body on the sidewalk.
Michael was a fashion-school student who was in rehab in 2007. Michael had a strained relationship with his father and legally changed his name from Blosil to Bryan.
